A 3-month advanced sewing training has been completed for Dalit Janajati and single women.

The three-month skill-based training organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City's Financial Aid Prosperity Nepal was completed on June 30. Ten people including Dalit, Janajati and single women participated in the training.

According to Nita Sharma, Chairperson of Prosperity Nepal, the training was organized with the first priority given to the economically weaker women, especially those from districts outside Kathmandu. As attitudes towards women have not changed, Sharma said such training would also play a role in strengthening their economic status. He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was important for women.

"We are conducting various skill-based and employment-oriented trainings for the women of Prosperity Nepal," said Bina Pariyar, secretary of the organization. Prosperity Nepal, established in 2071 BS, has an office in Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 3 Samakhusi. The organization also made this social work its priority and distributed relief materials to the flood victims in Bardiya district in 2074 BS.
